2017 Arena National Championships
Notre Dame, Indiana
April 25-30, 2017

Pre-registration for the 2017 Championships opens December 8, 2016. Clubs must pre-register their interest in submitting teams in the men’s and/or women’s event by December 28, 2016.

New this season, a $60.00/team deposit will be required during the pre-registration process.  For clubs that are selected to participate, individual athlete registrations will be reduced by $15.00/player.  The $60.00 deposit will be fully refunded to those clubs that are not selected to participate.  Clubs will be informed of acceptance into the event by January 2, 2017.

Official registration for the championships will run from February 8 – March 8, 2017.  You may wish to keep this in mind for scheduling purposes if your club requires internal playdowns.

Please pay particular attention to the following information when forming your teams for this year’s event:
  • 20 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams will be selected to participate in separate men’s and women’s divisions for a total of 35 teams. Each region will receive one entry per gender. Remaining entries will be filled by random selection, subject to the fill policy. Please refer to the 2016-17 USCA Rules of Curling and Competition for more information.
  • If fewer than 20 men’s or 15 women’s teams register, the Arena Championships Committee will evaluate the feasibility of increasing the number of teams for the other gender and/or decreasing the number of teams for the gender that does not reach its allotted number of teams, in an effort to ensure reasonably-sized pools.
  • Game format will remain championship style pool playwith a four (4) game guarantee.
  • NEW this year! All team members must be members of the same arena curling club.  Individuals who also curl league at a dedicated ice facility are ineligible to participate.
  • NEW this year! In an effort to condense the draw and reduce the length of the event for each gender, we will be implementing separate men’s and women’s championships running back-to-back during the course of the week.  The women’s event will kick off with practice and competition beginning on Tuesday and running through Thursday, and the men’s event will have practice beginning late in the day on Wednesday and competition running Thursday – Sunday.   Athletes wishing to support the opposite gender may extend their schedule as they see fit.  Click here to see a sample draw schedule, subject to change prior to the championships.
